A Letter to Hollie..

Hollie Woodruff. I don't know a better quote that could describe her.  I met Hollie a few years ago. We were working together and instantly connected. Her spirit and energy were contagious and I wanted her to be my friend. Over the years, our friendship continued. I told her about my dreams for A Place at the Table thinking she would smile and keep moving with her day. She didn't do that. She said, "LET'S DO IT". 

For the past 3 years, Hollie has been there. She has not given up on my dream (well maybe a meeting or two :) ), and she has been present every step of the way. I cannot tell you how many phone calls she has received from me crying and saying 'this is never going to work'.  Hollie said to me a while back that she would not leave my side until she saw A Place at the Table happen. Well, she did not. Hollie took a new job the day after we secured our lease with York Properties. 

Hollie left Raleigh last week and will be leaving the Board of Directors. She is moving on to bigger things and will be the next best pastor of a church in Richmond, VA. 

Hollie, we cannot wait to see all you do and all the dreams you cherish in Richmond. We are so grateful for all you have done for A Place at the Table. From all the Table Raleigh board members and I, we love you, we are proud of you, and we can't wait to see you the ribbon cutting ceremony of A Place at the Table.
