We will be back...

Hi Table Family, 

First, hear this: we miss you.  We miss seeing each of your faces, hearing your familiar orders, feeling your collective energy at the cafe. We miss it all because it’s what transformed Table from a restaurant into a vibrant, welcoming community. We miss you. Goodness, we miss you. 

As our nearest and dearest, you know that Table’s mission isn’t just to fill bellies: our mission is to create community around good food. The good food is still here of course! But creating community is tough when the core of that community--our volunteers and you--are gone. 

Here’s something else that’s tough without our amazing volunteers: providing 300 meals a day, five days a week, for six months. Whew. But our staff is incredible. And you are incredible! You helped us do this. And we are so grateful we’ve been able to meet a need in this hard, hard time. 

If I am being completely transparent though, a lot has changed over the past two weeks regarding volume and security. Our staff and board have agreed that we need to take a step back. Regroup. Refocus on our mission. 

Don’t worry: Table will be back! We are in this for the
long haul; but, our current situation isn’t do-able for the long-haul. It’s not in line with our mission. 

So, we made the hard decision to close the cafe temporarily--starting September 26th--to brainstorm, troubleshoot, and find our way back to what we do best: providing community and good food for all regardless of means in a safe, secure way. We look forward to developing and sharing our reopening plan with each one of you as soon as it is confirmed. 

Thank you for your constant support, Table Family. I promise you we will be back--with all the Pop Tarts you can handle.
